How to order and reuse an IP

There are two ways to get a dedicated IP. They differ not only in when you buy it but in how the address lives afterwards — see "Billing and the address's lifetime" at the end of the article.

Price and availability

The dedicated IP price is set per node and shown right in the order form. On some nodes dedicated IPs aren't sold — then the option doesn't appear in the server rent form, and ordering an IP as a separate service says "Dedicated IPs aren't sold on this node".

Option 1. Together with a game server

The server rent form has an Add a dedicated IP item with the price. Tick it — the IP is attached to the server right at creation.

The dedicated IP option in the rent dialog

  1. The "Add a dedicated IP" checkbox and its surcharge.
  2. The total — it already includes the surcharge.

If you already have free dedicated IPs on this node, a "Which IP to use" list appears under the checkbox:

  • "Buy a new one" — order another address at the listed price;
  • a row with a specific address — use one you've already paid for, free of charge.

Pick an existing one when the old server is closed but you want to keep the address: players keep joining at the address they know.

Nodes without a shared IP

Some nodes have no shared address at all — a server there can only run on a dedicated IP.

A mandatory dedicated IP on a node without a shared address

  1. The checkbox is on and locked, with a "required" badge; the surcharge is already in the total.
  2. The explanation: buy a new address or pick your own from the list.

If IPs aren't sold on the node and you don't own a free one there, the panel says so in red and the order button is disabled — pick another node.

Option 2. As a separate service

  1. Dashboard → Services, pick a project.
  2. Rent service → type Dedicated IP.
  3. Choose the location and node.
  4. Confirm the order.

The address appears in the project's service list and can be picked the next time you rent a server.

Get the IP on the same node where the server is (or will be). The address is tied to the node: it can't be attached to a server on another node, even in the same location.

What an attached IP gives

The server is created on the game's standard port (27015 for Counter-Strike), and the port field becomes available in the control panel: it can be changed to any free port in the range set for the game. Without a dedicated IP the port is random from 16000–20000 and can't be edited.

Billing and the address's lifetime

IP bought with the serverIP as a separate service
How it's billedPart of the server's price: one row in services, one charge, one renewal dateIts own row in services, its own date and charge
What happens to the address when the server is deletedReturns to the shared pool — it isn't kept for youStays yours while the service is paid; can be attached to the next server
What happens when the server's rental expiresDeleted with the server 3 days after the stop — see What happens if you don't extend a serverDetached from the deleted server and stays in your services

If the address matters in itself — you've handed it to players, it's in monitoring lists — take the IP as a separate service and attach it to the server from the list. Then closing or recreating the server won't touch the address.
