What happens if you don't extend a server

A game server, like FastDL, has a term: the rental is paid up to the next payment date, shown in the service list. If the server isn't extended by that date — neither by hand nor by auto-renewal — it stops, and three days later it's deleted.

How it happens

WhenWhat happens
On the payment date, if unpaidThe server stops. In the service list its status is "Rental expired"; in the control panel there's a red banner with the deletion date. The files are intact.
3 days after the stopThe server is deleted with all its files — maps, plugins, configs. It can't be restored.

The check runs every hour, so the server stops not at the exact minute of expiry but within the hour after it.

Each step comes with a notification — by email and Telegram, depending on what's enabled in Settings → Notifications: "Rental expired — server stopped" with the deletion date, and then "Server deleted".

Control panel of a stopped server

  1. The power buttons are disabled — the server can't be started before it's extended.
  2. The banner with the date you need to extend by.
  3. Extend — opens the payment dialog right here.

What you can do with a stopped server

While the rental has expired, the server is locked: only extending and deleting are available. Everything else is refused — starting, the console, launch variables, the port, reinstall, scheduled tasks, access, SFTP and renaming all answer that the rental has expired and the service needs extending.

Looking is fine: the control panel opens, files and settings are in place.

How to extend

  1. Dashboard → Services, open the project.
  2. Find the server with the "Rental expired" status.
  3. Click Extend — in the row menu or right on the red banner in the control panel.
  4. Check the amount and confirm.

After payment the server starts automatically, the status goes back to "Active", all files are in place — nothing needs reinstalling.

The month is added to the old payment date, not to the day you pay. If the server stood idle for two days, the paid month ends two days earlier. It's cheaper to extend before expiry.

What about the dedicated IP

  • An IP bought together with the server is deleted with it and returns to the shared pool.
  • An IP bought as a separate service stays yours — it's simply detached from the deleted server and can be attached to a new one.

How to avoid the stop

  • Enable auto-renewal: the payment goes through by itself on the due date, and if the balance was short and the server stopped, it starts again on the next check after you top up.
  • Keep at least one period's worth on your balance.
  • Don't turn off reminders — the warning arrives 3 days before the charge.

The three days count from the moment of the stop. If you miss them, the server has to be ordered again and set up from scratch.
