Launch variables and the server port

Both are on the Settings tab of the server's control panel.

Launch variables

These are the parameters the game server starts with: the starting map, mode, player count and others — the set depends on the game.

Change the fields you need and save. Changes apply on the next server start, so restart the server after saving.

Notes:

  • some variables are read-only — their value is set by the game's configuration;
  • on a per-slot plan the player count is set by the plan, so it's not in the list;
  • service variables are hidden — there's no need to change them by hand.

Server port

Which port the server gets depends on the address it runs on.

Shared IP. The port is assigned automatically — a random free one from the 16000–20000 range. It can't be changed: several servers share the address, and an arbitrary port can't be claimed on it. There is no "Server port" field in the settings.

Dedicated IP. On creation the server gets the game's standard port — 27015 for Source games. If that port is already taken on the address, the server gets the next free one (27016 and so on). The port can be changed on the Settings tab, in the Server port field:

  • the allowed range is set per game (for Counter-Strike it's 27015–45535) — entering a value outside it shows the bounds;
  • after changing the port, restart the server and tell your players the new address.

If the field isn't shown, the server is on a shared IP. A dedicated one can be added — see the Dedicated IP section.

While the rental has expired and the server is stopped, the settings — port included — are unavailable; extend the service first.

Reinstall

At the bottom of the tab is the reinstall block. It deletes the files and installs the game afresh; settings and launch variables are kept. Details — in Reinstalling the server.
